yea i think my choke is messed up too. I know that one my freinds other quads such as the raptor when you put the choke on it idles his then when it starts to like die down you turn off the choke and it idles normal. But with my 400 the idle doesnt make it rev higher or nothing, doesnt even seem likie its doing anything. Is this normal?

I think its just a honda choke vs. yamaha choke the raptors and warriors i've seen idle high when the choke is on... where 300exs and 400exs idle normal w/choke. and honda's have a habbit of being cold natured, that's why they bog and die and such, but it stops when it warms up a lil bit. Its not the plug or the battery. although different plugs can help make starting easier.

Almost every Honda I ever owned especially anything with a RFVC engine is pretty cold natured. The Fourtrax 300 choke actually works great and the way a choke should work, it idles higher and everything, but the one on my 400ex doesn't work like that and I usually have to keep my throttle open a little bit to keep it running, but once its warm everything is great.

To solve all your choke problems on the 400ex, buy a 42 piolet jet :macho
