How bad would it be if i took the compression release off my xr 400 cam?

i dunno if it'd hurt but my friend 350tt is pretty brutal, but he does a compression release with his shifter lever up twice down once.

when i put on my web cam,,,,,,there is no compression release...but i still have the stock piston...

The aftermarket cams don't have it...

I guess the big question is why would you want to?

just an FYI type of question.....i have my engine apart for the 416 kit and xr cam, i was just curious if it would hurt....i think i will leave it alone ....i dont want to blow up the starter!
