View Full Version : did anyone's 300ex Pkb. break ever work?

hi i have a 99 300ex and as of today my parking break will not work i traced the line into the break caliper and i figured i'd bust something if i tried to take it apart, my friend has a 94 300ex and his never worked either did this happen to the rest of u or is it just us?

None of the 300exs/400exs parking brakes work, You can get them working but you have to adjust them everytime you use them, it sucks , thats why most people just buy parking brake block offs.

Mines never worked, Im thinking about ordering a block off for it but i dont know what to do with the reverse button and lever? It looks kinda ugly with it gone unless I bought a diffrent lever and perch

when u all trailer ur quads with no parking brake how do u keep it from moving?

Don't put it in gear to keep it from moving. It will damage your tranny. I just tie i down real tight to make sure it doesn't move.

You dont have to get a brake block off just adjust the parking brake where it is not tight at all and it will be fine.

does anyone know why the parking break doesnt work i mean i dont need mine but its not like honda to do that

without a parking brake when trailing the quad zip tie the front brake lever to the handle bar

i think you have to hold the rear brake down while appling the parking break.

it worked on my friend's 400 at least

Mine's always worked. Are you sure you have it adjusted right?

Mine works since the last time I was at a motorcross track and we just adjusted it.

how do u adjust the parking brake at the lwver somewhere, and does the pkg. brake go to the front or back brakes>?

haha it was sorta hard to use the parking brake when it was ripped off laying on my floor hahah ithats what i did and recomend doin it!!! also what we do to transport the quads is tie them down hardcore and take a zip-strip and wrap it around the front brake lever and leave it in neutral... cause like he said it will eventully damage your tranny!
