I just got laid off I have been working here for 2 years ( construction ) and this is the 2nd time I've been laid off. So with a long talk with the Hubby I have decided to start school in January for Radiology it will take me about 15 months full time then I won't have to worry about getting laid off anymore and when I have kids I can raise them myself and still work part time and make more than I do now. Does anyone here do radiology or know someone who does? Perfect timing too right before christmas. They told me yesterday my last day will be Friday. They should have told me friday so they could get more work out of me. lol

Thats a tough break :grr: But I do know a few people that ahve taken Radiology and are now working in that field . They love it .... they all received jobs the day after they graduated .... employers around here are begging for people .

Radiology is an excellent field to be going into. There is high demand soooo, you can find a job easily after you get through school. I am going into radiation therapy myself. Stick with school no matter what, and you will enjoy the benefits of the medical field. Hope this helps and good luck!;)

Well I'm 23 right now and have always said I need to go to school blablabla never did and kick myself everyday. But hubby is getting a promotion in January so he will be getting paid more than we both make right now so I guess now's the time I am going full time so that should keep me on the ball. I'm excited.:D

I'm glad to see your going to better yourself rather than hold the gov't accountable and just waiting for them to help... I give you major props for that! I also feel your pain, the begining of this year, I was laid off as well....company was changing directions and forgot to tell a few people... I can honestly look back and say I'm glad it happened. For the longest time I wanted to quit my job and start looking for something else (I was getting bored with the job). When they let me go, it was a kick in the butt to finally do something that I really enjoy and can make a pretty penny doing it.

Good luck in the future! I'm sure you will do the same as I did and look back at this as a positive change in your life.

Sorry to hear that you got laid off, that really does suck. My mom got laid off last july. But luckily my dad makes enough to suport us but there have been some serious budjet cuts the past few months.:( Good luck with the radio ology thing too.
