Where did you run your power wire through the firewall?? I'll be running 4ga. and figured maybe I could save me some time looking.

i believe there are cut outs on the fire wall left hand side by the clutch/brake pedals
just peel back the carpet and they are there someplace

also try looking around where your AC and heater comes through. they usually have some room in the rubber gromets to let it slide through. remember run your turn on lead and power cable on one side, and your RCA's on the other side so that you done get any alt whine.

there may also be some on the other side but i dont know
on my s10 i used the drivers side which is where most ppl run them

Taco,
just drill a hole.

I've done numerous stereo system installs, and thats what I always did, just remember to investigate good before you drill, usually the passenger side has the most open space for drilling.

Whenever possible I try not to add holes anywhere unless they are needed. Plus its much quicker to just cut a grommet. Hehe now to throw the 15 in the ext. cab:D

i hope people are putting gromets in the holes the poke in the firewall, if not you will be paying for a new eletrical system and possibility burn down the truck. if its just a bare hole thesheet metal will cut the plastic insulation and arc against the metal, not good, even if you have a fuse at the battery.

Most existing grommets are usually to small for 4 ga. You will probably have to drill a hole. If you have an automatic, there is a blank plate where the clutch would normally go through on the driver side. Look under the dash and you will probably see what I am talking about. Most amp kits come with a grommet to fit the hole you may have to drill.
