Ok, i have a 86' trx250r. It has a full drag port with cool head, pipe, 39mm carb, and boysen reeds. I currently am geared 12-39 and I have 22x11x10 10 paddle extreme's and that is Too much paddle for my bike, I cannot get them to spin fast enough on the bottom end.

I ran some 20" sand skate II's and they ran great.. but I am looking for something else, my neighbor is going to buy my paddles and I am looking for some 20" haulers, but what size and how many paddles?? I trail ride, and all out dune.. I love doing tree shots but I want bottom end. I was thinking 20x10x10 8 paddle haulers but I see people running like 6-7 paddle haulers and wondering why?? Thanks a lot.

With those mods, 8 paddle should work. 6-7 paddles IMO would not be enough paddle.

The more paddles you have the more horsepower it takes to turn them i use 6 paddle on the 300ex and 7 paddle on the 400ex on the crf 450 quad i run ten paddle and they work awesome with a touch over 50 horsepower at the rear wheels.I like the haulers nyself...............Chris

Try some 20'' eight paddle haulers. I run 20x11-10's and they work well for all around duning on my R. I also run Sand Skate 2's sometimes in 20'' to and they work well also. They fall off up top compared to the haulers though.

sandman, i also noticed that. Running my brothers 20" sandskate II's i felt like my drag port was a bottom-mid port. Up on the top end in 4th-5th gear the tires were spinning so fast I wasn't getting any traction.

Yeah the haulers just stay hooked up and moving you forward better up top.

My buddy has an extremely built r and he runs 10 paddles backwars. They hook better than 8's but not as much as 10s. everyone thinks he puts them on wrong until they race. He doesnt like the way it runs with the 10 paddles.

 Well, there's a new one. Can't say that I've ever seen anyone run paddles reversed :huh I'm not necessarily doubting it, just can't figure out how someone would think to try it.

i have seen people put their v-grove paddles on backwards just to get more wheel spin when their quad cant pull them with the paddles on correctly. they run fine on flat level ground but cant make it up the big dunes without any kind of starting speed.

He got awesome hill drags. He used to race pro. so it might have been alot rider but he didnt like 8s or 10s so he ran the 10s backwards.

I can easily pull 22" 10 paddle extremes up hills but my powerband wants to fall off if I let off. with 20" 10 paddle sand skates I can easily pull them 3rd-4th gear up tree shots but they Really die when I get them spinning past 4th, almost like their spinning TOO much with not enough traction. Once i get in 5th it pulls a little..but when I hit 6th it falls back (not bogging.. just no traction)

My neighbor is a little broke right now.. since christmas and all.. but im cool with him and whenever he gets the money he can buy them. lol.
