well in installed my HMF pipe tonight and i installed a 165 main jet and whille i was tightening it i felt a little resestance then it was loose again... are they easy to strip? maybe i have it cross threaded? not sure i amg going to take it off the bike tomorrow anyhow to ajust the needle clip ill have to look at at... if it is stripped i imagine it the threads on the jet that are damaged because it looks as if its made of brass...

anyhow anyone know where i locate the air screw that i am suposed to turn out 3 turns from all the way in?

thanks everyone for their quick replys...

i got it figured out.. i took the plastics off last night to get to the air screw and backed it out 3 turns, and i also checked that main jet it seemed ok, i snugged it up some it wasent strpped like i thought...

anyway i took the thottle valve out to move the clip and accedintaly struipe on of the cheep screws that hold the needle in the valve so i cant get that out now but i figure HMF only has you move it one notch up, so i wouldnt think it would make a huge differance....

well thiss weekend i am going to ride it see how it acts.... cant wait just from ridding around the yard in nothing higher than 2nd gear it feels like it pulls really hard now it great!

for thoes who said that its probally too rich... i am going by HMFs website and they are in cleveland ohio whis is about 2 hours from me so i figure its a good recomendation... :-)

yea i called them asking why they recommended a 175 for me and they said that that was a mistake and the best gains for a slip on 400ex and open airbox with k&n is 152 and thats what i bought. runs great.

Wow, 152 main seems way to lean for an open airbox with your setup. I was running a 155 Main with closed airbox and T-4 and K&N to be running right. Had to go up to a 160 on the main when I opened up the airbox. 152 seems to lean for your setup, but I could be wrong.
