reverse on 400 ex?

I was wondering now that the 2005
400ex has reverse can you install
reverse on a 2001 400ex?
It's basically the same bike but don't know if it's possible or worth it to do so.

you would have to go into the tranny to do it , probably have to get a different bottom end, i dont know if the other tranny,s would have the room or anything for the added gears

ya,, my buddy just got a 2005 400EX and it has a reverse.. Its only like another 500 dollars.. its got the twist knob like the other brands with reverse...

um pretty sure u can get it with the old 400s because we matched everything with the old to the new and they match up equally i would get it the reverse is awsome

because then you will have the best of both worlds..

because you got the best looking 400ex that came from honda.. and then you would have reverse.. sounds like a good plan.. and i know it will up the value on your bike when you go and try to resale it.

i thought i read some where before that you could also go into the tranny and motor of the 450r and add reverse. woludnt that be cool.

just buy the 2005 model put your mods on and then sell or part yours out. It would probably cost the same amount and then everything else would be new to
