i am wondering if putting a 440 kit in my ex is going to make it unreliable. also what is the best kit to get?

Any time you vary from stock you will lose reliablity, But you have to watch 440's I heard that the stock honda rod will end up beaking eventually. My two cents worth.

They are reliable IF you do not cut corners trying to save a couple bucks... Get a heavy duty rod, heavy duty head studs or the longer exhaust one, those are the must haves pretty much... I am building a pretty big one myself, I should have my bottom end and the jug back 2morrow, then C & D is working on the head, and it may be back this week.... then I will will take my time and build her on up.. DONT EVER GET IN A HURRY PUTTING A MOTOR BACK TOGETHER EITHER... All you do is get excited and forget,, then stuff breaks.. ...

a 416 with a nice cam is WELL worth the cash. the cam and piston was my best performance per dollar mod that i did to my bike yet.

I ve never broke a rod with any of mine , however the hi comp pistons can cause a lot of head gasket problems :ermm:
