running hot

i was up at sand mountain this weekend (4000-5000ft.) and my r was running hot the whole time, header was glowing at night. this is the first time this has happened, all i have done to it is slip on pipe, 180 jet, 13 tooth sprocket, and k&n with no lid. my brothers raptor and his wifes kawa 400 had the same problems. any ideas?

glowing red head pipe may not mean the bike is running to hot. there have been other posts on this issue before, my 400ex used to glow sometimes to.. I haven't noticed it on my R yet.

Pipe glowing red is normal on 4 strokes.

What fuel you running? Was a sand mountain for labor day and had my 450 dyno'd. Jetted out with a 190 main and needle on third clip. I ran some U4 and it heated up and the fan was kicking on. Switched back to C12.

yeah, my r glows like a mofo. it normal.

As long as your jetting is right, coolant supply is working, and you are using the right gas then there isn't a problem. And some neons around the quad and its glow in the dark duner.
