There are lot of threads on this, but if you plan on racing MX the HotCam stage II seems to be the best. FST seems to be good with building engines and time. I don't believe you have to have hardened rockers or stiffer valves with a 416, usually only with the bigger bores and higher compression.

ok,would it be my best bet to go with a 416 or higher?with the 416 it is a stock size piston?:huh idk sorry if i sound stupid,i dont really pay attention to this.what would be my best bet really?

416 requires a bore, and since you are going to have in bored, you might as well go with the 426, that way if you have any probs with the sleeve later down the line, you can go up to 440. i have a couple of buddies go with the 426 and they have yet to have probs. they both have had this piston for over 18 mo and no regrets yet. one of them did get stiffer springs and it caused his quad to run a little hot, went back to stock and she runs great now.

416 is .080 over the stock bore .080 over is about as far as u wanna go with the stock sleeve, with the Hot Cam, i dont think u need hardened rockers valves. If u send it somewhere, they can check out ur existing head components

Go with the 416, if you have problems and you need to bore it out even more, you can still use the stock sleeve with a 426. A 416 set up right makes awesome power, and the advantage over the 440's is that it revs quicker. With MX you want to have a quick revving engine, power and reliability. With the 416 you get all of that.

i would do a 406 or 416 also. this way you don't need to mess with changing sleeves. you can run a stock sleeve with the 426, but i don't recommend it. the hotcams are drop in cams and this means you do not run hardened rockers. stock rockers are perfect. by the way, a 406 is a 86mm piston and a 416 is a 87mm piston. so, when you bore it out to get more cubic centimeters, you do need to add a larger piston.

I would do like other have said 416 piston kit, hotcam stg 2, new valve seals, springs if you want to (not a have to item), flow port and polish again (not a have item), this seems to be a popular set up Colby is doing 3 of them right now :)
