View Full Version : about shifting in the high gears

well today i was just playing around and when i went to shirt to 3rd to 4th or from 4th to 5th(its one of the two i don't know which one) it didn't go into that gear at all

can anyone help me out

do a search few people with this problem, I have a 04 and havent had any.

i ain't really searching for people with the problem but if anyone can tell me if thats just normal or less there is something wroung with it would be helpful

do a search there are post about what cause, fic ect.

The only guy i remeber had this problem and turn out his shift fork was bent.

I've had mine miss a shift once or twice at the track under hard acceleration. It happens sometimes. You just didn't get a solid shift. If it happens often, I would worry about it. I wouldn't worry too much being that it only happened once. If a shift fork was bent, it would happend every time because that is not something that just fixes its self.

The 450R has a false neutral between 3rd and 4th and that is what is happening to you. Think about that happening on an approach to a 80 triple, not fun. Make sure to use the clutch when under hard load or let of the gas fully.

So are you saying that this problem only happens when you speed shift without the clutch? I am about to get my R and this tranny thing has had me kinda worried but I never do that so I will feel more at ease spending that kind of money if i know i wont have that problem.

Well sometimes when its in my garage and i pull it out it will pop into like 1st or sumthing?......

It happens to me but only when I where shoes and not my boots.
Because I don’t shift it up all he way with my shoes on!!!
