I was riding with a couple of my friends and they dared me to jump this massive hill... SO I did. After grabbing sick air, I realized that I was headed straight for a powerpole guide wire. After getting closelined and dropping about 10ft onto what semmed like the hardest ground I have ever felt in my life, I simply got up and checked out another "battle wound."

i got closelined by a steel cable around the waist and it cost me around 600 on the quad and a really nice scar along my waist. It sucked, all that i can say we were both really lucky

I was riding in my yard last year and was heading for a gap between 2 trees, and there was a clothes line hanging between the 2 trees right level with my neck, and I saw it like 2 feet before it, i have never ducked so fast in my life.

Yeah I don't think I hurt the wire too bad :p I suffered a major bruise and my quad surprisingly wasn't injured, just a slightly bent handlebar

yea i had a thing happen to me like that about a month a go i was ridign with a couple of buddies who have 250 2 stroke bikes and I have a kfx 400. we were on a trail that was pretty flooded and they let me lead becuse i kept getting stuck. I came around a corner in 3rd gear wide open and i saw something right in hte corner of my eye. It was a green state metal gate and i coulndt stop . i naiiled the sucker hard and it closed lined me right in my chest and i letteraly got ripped off and fell like probally 6 feet back. I was on the ground thinking to my self holy ****. what did i just do. So i got to my feet and with my chest in a lot of pain i checked out the damage. I was really alucky because another 6 inches lower my whole front end would have been gone. all it did was catch the top of my bars and push them down about an inch because the bolts were obliously loose. so i got back on and wee hauled *** because we were on state land and hoping that the dep wasnt near got out of there. I got back to my buddies house and we fixed the bars and we had to bleed the barkes becasue the line had popped loose from the resiooir giving me no brakes.
I really sucked but hey what u gunna do

I had the same thing happen to me about ten years ago on my blaster i was on a trail that i rode alot then one day i came down the hill and the wire took me off buy my neck. I will never forget it. the only lesson one can learn from such an event is that even if you travel the same trail everyday you should always do your first pass slow just in case some a__hole puts somthing in your way. better off safe than dead!! just glad to hear there is other people out there that can live to talk about. we should all learn from these mishaps.

I'v always been afraid some fool is gonna put a cable up on a trail I usually ride and i'm going to find it by the time its too late and I ride pretty fast sometimes. I am always very careful to keep and eye out for cable/wires. Most of the time though its going to be a large cable and hard to miss.

A guy on one of my car websites rode into a barbwire fence on his quad. He tore up the actual muscle of one of his biceps and had many many bad cuts on his arms and chest. He was on drugs to fight off infection and in physical therapy to rebuild his amr muscles for a long time. I'll be damned if I ride without a chest protector ever again. He had on nothing but a sweatshirt and helmet.

I was racing the dirt bike in Texas at the GNCC this year. Came upon a hill that had a few riders down blocking the way. So I went thru these bushes to go around them, on the other side there was this wild grapevine. It closelined me at neck level, below the helmet and above the chest protector. It drug me off the bike. couldn't hardly talk to almost two weeks and left a mark across my neck that looked like I had been hanged for about a month.

This is crazy like 6 months ago I made a new jump in the woods by my house I was testing it out for the first time and forgot to cut this old zip line down. I Jumped it in 2nd gear and the cable caught me in the mouth. I had my helmet on but it still cut me up pretty bad I couldnt walk right for 3 days and i was pumped full of lortabs.

I know this guy in PA whos little brother got killed while riding. He was riding along the trails and there just so happened to be a low-hanging cable...

Accidents happen, and they suck. Im glad to hear most of you are fine. Just watch out guys, I don't like hearing these stories. :(
