I think I am going to put a 14 tooth front sproket (countershaft sproket) on my 300EX, but i was thinking this means i will have to remove the case saver. I'm not sure i want to do this 'cause if i would throw a chain, and crack my sidecase I would be realy pissed at myself. Has anyone ever thrown a chain on a 300 or is it safe to do this???:(

LOOK WITH THE CASE SAVER I THREW MY CHAIN AND IT STILL CRACKED IT AND WE FIXED IT WITH JB WELD AND IT WORKED PERFECT I RUN A 14 WITH NO CASE SAVER AND HAVENT HAD ANY TROUBLE BUT IF YOU DONT WANT TO RUN WITH NO CASE SAVER GO DOWN ON THE BACK SPROCKET AND YOU WILL HAVE NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT

take a die grinder (pencil grinder) and grind off about .050" and it will work sweet. keep grinding untill you get it to fit.

just take the case saver out and there is no trouble involved since it takes about 4 minutes to do so yes it is worth the hassle
