if i port my 400 how mach hp will i git out of it?

since you added that it is red, you will only get a couple tenths. if it was yellow like mine, you would get 5 at minimum. :devil:


a stock 400ex won't really benefit from a port job too much. a built one may benefit. i had mine ported but haven't rode it much lately. so, i don't know the difference yet. i think the main benefit of a port job on a 400ex is to match the head with your riding style. for example, if you ride mx get it ported for mx, etc. i really don't think the power increases will be huge.

Port a stock motor and you won't see a gain. A highly modified one will see a little. Even Mickey Dunlap says that.

i still think you will have little to benefit. well, maybe since it is yellow you might gain some good power. lol i would probably do other work. a cam and piston will give you a good noticable difference.

I like the looks of your bike where/what do you run?? I had my 300.............yes I know it's just a 300(it's red & FAST) :rolleyes: but anyway I had some port work done to it & I don't know if it was the comination of that w/ the cam & rockers but it sure seems like once I get about 1/2 throttle it wakes RIGHT up & scoots!!
But yeah I think it would be a waste of $$ if you just ported it w/o any other mods :)
