You will want to get a dirt bike kill switch for a new start button. make sure its for a KX, YZ or RM, not the Honda CR because it grounds to the handel bars. When you get that and your teather ordered, PM me, I have this set up done on my bike;)

On my 400ex I want to get rid of the switch assembly and just replace the start switch, I have a tether kill switch already on. I will be replacing the front plastic with one that has no lights. I do not need the lights, so that means I do not need that switch assembly but need a start switch. What do the pros use?
Thanks, Bill

If you are getting new plastics and don't plan on using your lights, than this is what you should do. Take apart the stock unit with your start botton, kill switch etc. Look at all of the wires running into the unit and find the 2 that run to the start button. You will want to use them 2 wires to connect to the dirt bike kill button, as this will act as your new starter. Take the original unit off, and if you want to make it look clean you can cut all of the lighting wieres off and just have the 2 for the starter. I wired my teather into the wires that go to the stock killswitch, but if you already have yours wired in, than your good to go:cool:

damn guys...just get a killbutton off of a RM 250 dirt bike, isn't that hard....just a killbutton that has 2 gound wires, no one that grounds to the handle bars and you will be good.

I have this kill switch your talkin about for a CR and it does ground to the handlebars, it was BEECH figuring out why i kept blowing fuses, if you do get one that grounds to the handlebars, wrap some black tape around your bars, then put the kill switch over it and put it on, that way it will keep it from blowing fuses ;)
