Axle bearings shot??

Ok so finally after two seasons of use my axle bearings on my 400ex have a very minor amount of play in them, (back and forth, not side to side). My questions is could I get away with just tightening them to get me through the winter or should I replace them asap?? Thank ya.

Replace them right now man. You can't really "tighten" them, they will just take out your carrier and it will seize, than you have to spend $200 instead of $40 on a whole new carrier. Here is how to replace them (http://www.exriders.com/vbb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=16357)

You can't tighten axle bearings. I would replace them to be on the safe side. Mine are getting loose after 3.5 years and when I looked at the price they are pretty cheap insurance.

just replace them its not to expensive and it only takes about a half hour the first time you do it
