I am wanting to get out in the mud and water but i am afraid i will get water into my engine via my air box, i have holes drilled in the top of my airbox and a cap where the snorkel used to be, the only mods to the bike is a pipe, k&n air filter and the holes drilled in the box what can i do to safeguard my engine from not getting water into it. i am running a 2002 400ex by the way.

they make a waterproof cloth that still lets enough air in your box. i cant think of what it is called you can cut a large hole in the lid of your air box and rivot or fasten this screen on. it more or less repel water but dosnt make your quad a submarine. where at in ok are you from? i am in okc and we go to the dunes alot.

I am in Tulsa, we go out to the dunes usually three or four times a year, we will be out there Oct.22-24. If you can think of the name of that cloth that you are talking about post it on here.
thanks for the info.

I found some nice foam stuff, that I cut to fit inbetween my sub-frame rails, and my airbox!, But i found out that K&N sucks up water really really easy!!!, I would recommend UNI!!!!!, Ever since i put it on my 416ex i have never sputter out of any water holes!!!!!!

just cover the holes with duckt tape when your goin to hit holes thats what i do i have 3 1" holes in my box make sure that tape is on tight and secure and you wont have any problems its cheep easy and u can still run all the same stuff u have now

EHS racing makes an airbox lid with an OUTERWARE covering the hole. You can buy the lid or just a kit to convert it yourself, I just ordered one myself. Here is the link, check it out. http://www.ehsracing.com/products/400ex.php:D
