Is there an advantage with an 8" beadlock than with a 9" beadlock for mx. Which is better?.

most of your mx based tires are designed for use with an 8 inch rim so thats one advantage:p

I dont understand. I use mxr4s' and they offer an 8", 9" and 10" tire. I think maxis also offer those sizes?

just from past expeirence the 8 inch rim /tire combo will offer more sidewall. this can be good and bad and the same would follow thru with a 9 or 10 inch combo.
the 10 inch rim/tire will have a very small sidewall and very little sidewall flex. this might be good on a hard pack track where handling is important.
the 8 inch tire/rim will offer more flex and better traction in most cases.
i could be wrong but i think thats about the gist of it
