Just saw the results from the last GNCC race. Wasn't Chris Borich the one that had an article done about his Honda 450R in Dirtwheels about a month or two ago. Well was on ********.com and clicked on the results from the last GNCC race. Seems like he switched over to a Yamaha YFZ450. What does everyone think about this switch. Think he would of stayed with the honda if it had an electric start? Who knows, maybe it was for this one race but doubt it.

money will talk...if your getting the honda for free which isnt the case.

now the 3 wins on the honda would have netted him $1500 in contingency money so id say chris is doing ok.

honda just needs to get off thier *** and pony up to help these guys out more.

Dirt Wheels is a joke anymore.

Chris has been very fast on his Honda and has not had any reliability issues like he had on the Yamaha.

Honda should step up and sign him, but I doubt they actually will.

More than Chris B have switched. Santo showed up on a Honda as well as Steph Parton.

More than likely, you will see a few more Honda's next year.

I wonder why, maybe because the Honda dominates on the trails. People are starting to see that you don't need electric start if you now how to ride.:D

in the top ten next year their will be 4 hondas , 5 yamahas, and 1 suzuki. all the yamaha guys will be on them because that will be what they have too ride or their teams want them too ride. the guys with a choice will ride the hondas.

why does everyone say "fianlly the 450r will get some sweet aftermarket parts? " all the best exhausts are available for the 450r, great suspension packages, all the nerfs and skids you could ever want to choose from. a host of companies offer motor mods (nmotion, duncan, fst, big gun ect.) there are steering dampners, gusset kits, any kind of stem you could want, gpr stabalizers, rox has awesome bar mounts, graphics kits galore, every dress up item imaginable, larger fuel tanks, a hos t of aftermarket cam manufacturers, cdi's ect...
what are these sweet aftermarket parts i am missing out on ?
im serious, what is their for the yfz that can't be had for the 450r ?

Is honda going to be sponsoring another rider next year? Or will they just stay with farr?

i know suzuki picked up jeremiah, i heard they picked up natalie

i've heard yamaha will have kory ellis as their first full factory rider

and kawasaki is out of GNCC....

doesnt look good for xc riders wanting factory sponsorships. you would think that yamaha would take ballance over ellis, but oh well.

maybe im completely wrong...:p

i can think of one i'd like to see for the honda.................... electric start NO WAY!! Keeping it kick start keeps alot of inexperienced and pussey riders off the beast

LOL I actually like it because it is kickstart. Takes what 3 effortless kicks @ the MOST to start it.

i just want the e-start for XC dead engine starts, plus it takes more than 3 effortless kicks to start a four stroke if its been sitting for a while ;)

just cause you like e-start doesn't make you a ***** rider........i've got several quads and bikes in my garage right now with kick starts too. guess i should've opted for that kick start on my nightrain

I dont see what the big deal is about the kick start for dead engine starts. I get off the line quicker than most E-start quads:eek: It takes practice

i just know at our local races i was the only one that was still racing a 400ex the last 4 races this year and i got the holeshot with pretty much nobody around me every time with a pretty much stock motor. i'm just saying if they offered an aftermarket starter i would try it out. i'm getting a 450r over the winter, but at the races any kind of advantage on the start would be a help.

ok, you are completely wrong here. its very rare if my 450r ever takes more then ONE kick hot or cold to get it started. i know for a fact you cant start a 450r faster and be off the line then most e-starts.

11-18-2004, 06:22 PM
by "sitting for a while" i meant like weeks or a month or something like that, not just a day or two after you rode it.

how can i be completely wrong when i'm just stating my opinion :huh

all i am saying is that if somebody made an aftermarket e-start for the 450r i would try it out, and probably like it, provided it didn't cause any electrical problems and was reliable. don't really care if everybody else wants to kick theirs or whatever.
