1- CDI and ignition system/fly wheel.
1-TI intake valves
1- Ported head w/valve job
1-JE Piston cut to sparks specs

As far as cost goes see sparksracing.com or call 661-872-4343
To me You get what you pay for. This is by far the fastest 4 stroke I have ever rode. The throttle response is amazing. On top end it just keeps pulling.

Not to mention that the alky 416 they have waxed most of the other builders bikes, including Trinity's 727, then they brought out the 465 and 690.

yeah a friend of mine sent his raptor to trinity for the 727 kit when it first came out. it fast but not that fast. my uncle just built a 686 that would probably walk right next to it. it has the single edlebrock carb, stage 2 hot cams, full yosh without any port work. i would bet on it that it would walk with it in a drag.:macho

My buddy had a 720 built by Southwest Motorsports in Phoenix, and they went the wrong way with everything. My 426ex walked on it by 5 bike lengths numerous times up Olds.

My buddy has a 686cc raptor and has never lost a drag or mx race to any banshee or yfz he has ever come across. He set up that motor right. It has the right cams, port work, valves, piston, compression, and gear ratios. It has all stock suspension and chassis too. Its so nice to see someone who knows how to lean whip up on these wide mx bikes! He clocked it at 110 top speed also. Best part is he uses the modified stock pipe. It leaves alot of people scratching their heads because it looks bone stock.

this one dan built has no head work done and it will clean eat a yfz with cam mod, filter and baffle removed. he has that raptor and a new yfz and we raced them and the raptor walked away at 3/4 throttle before we had it broke in. we havnt raced them since its been totaly broke in. it will eat my R and that yfz like is nothing. its got so much torque it about rips your arms off.

Most people dont know the potential of the raptor motor. It is as corked up from the factory as the yfz motor. If you know how to set it up, nothing can come close.

well there will always be a faster machine out there. i know for a fact that there are some yfz's already out there that are putting the whoopin down on just about any raptor in site. and it looks like this 450r kit from sparks is going to be a hard one to beat. if you go with his x4 cam for top end and let him do all the head work i bet its going to run like a raped ape. these 450r motors come pretty corked up as well if you get down to the nity grity. theres alot to be learned about the yfz and the trx just as there was with the raptor and the 400ex.

ive always said this. if you want straight line speed, buy a banshee.

Our local Pro and GNC MXer had his '04 TRX motor and '05 TRX motor both built by Sparks and they are ridiculously fast. The only difference is the '04 got some port work and its supposed to be pushing 58 HP and the '05 is pushing 52 or 54 HP. He pulls holeshots by MANY MANY bike lengths.....way faster than both of his CRF quads.

A mutual friend of ours has a TRX w/ 13.5:1 JE piston, CRF Cam, FCR carb, filter/jetting, and Baldwin full exhaust...needless to say he has no shortage of power. He said it was a day and night difference in power and throttle response over his quad.....it pissed him off to be honest, haha!

If I had the $$$ and the time to wait on a Sparks motor like that....i'd do it but I dont have either. I'm no national level rider either though, I dont need power like that. I'm happy with what I got

Banshees still rule the dunes. But you better believe the 450s will be right there. These 14:1 Hondas are starting to rule the tracks in AZ. Raptors have potential no doubt but the line between right and wrong is super thin with those motors. But I still think that suspension is more important then motor, unless all you do is go in a straight line.

BINGO!!! and all a banshee is good for is going in a straigh line, for that matter thats all i thought yamaha was good for until the yfz, and even then they are out there whoopin on the sand drags.
i like seeing a 450r out in front every once in a while on the sand drags.:macho

So what the guy has more motor than I do, follow me into the dunes and we'll see who can keep up with who.

raptors seem to launch really good in sand as well. i would love to take this raptor that dan just built down with me to the dunes in two weeks but i dont see it happening.:(

oh well, guess i will just have to lay the whoopin down with the R!:macho

I'll give ya a big H3LL YA on that one. Don't get me wrong, I love to line em up and run on the flats. But I'll gladly take my old, out-dated EX into the sand trails and see who can follow.

You can beat me by 2 bike lengths on the drags you say. That's fine. Now let's go hit the trails and you better pack a lunch. :macho

has anyone heard of or seen anything on the duncan 505 that they are working on? how does this sparks kit stack up against that? i am getting motor work done this winter and i was all for the duncan 505, then i heard about this sparks kit. i am in a toss up now. i know the sparks is still a 450, but how will it perform compared to a duncan 505? i like the idea of a new carb, and ignition system with the sparks, but i don't want to go with it and then find out i would have gotten more out of the duncan kit. knowwhatamean.

Call SPARKS RACING 661-872-4343 they might already have some big bore pistons in the works. My national 450 kit is amazingly fast. I cant imagine a 505. Best of luck. Choose SPARKS you wont be disappointed.

ha...you can build your own for much less....plus getting a new carb on the 450r doesn't even make much of a difference at all in HP gains.... .1-.2 hp is all i've heard from quite a few engine builders...and TI valves..have fun paying $80 a piece for nothing but them wearing out quicker

i wouldnt be buying a carb for all the hp gains it gives you. i would buy a flat slide fcr for throttle response and better fuel economy.
