I'm 5'8 and when I lasted weighed myself ( before I broke my leg) I was about 145lbs . I haven't been able to stand on a scale with both feet to get an accurate weight cuz I can't put weight on my leg , but I figure I'm probably down to about 140 lbs . I've lost a bit of muscle mass since my accident .

I think my light weight has its advantages and disadvantages .

Advantages , are getting good starts . When I first bought my YFZ450 , I took it out racing and pulled the holeshot in both motos . I also see my light weight helping me out when straight line drag racing others .

Disadvantages , are even though the YFZ is only about 350-370 lbs , I find myself muscling it around in the air . Also when exiting corners I wish I had the extra weight to get back over the rear end and not have it break loose as much .

I'd actually wish , magazines would do an article about just the racers ..... not their quads .

I'd be interested in reading an interview , where they ask the racer his age , height, weight . What he finds to be he's advantages and disadvantages to being the height and weight that he is .

I remember reading a few years back an interview that they had with Shane Hitt ..... he said he finds that some of his success in TT and with holeshots is because he is only about 150 lbs .

I think it would be interesting to know what kind of diets these guys are on ... what their training schedules and routines are , etc .

I think the average MX racer is between 175 - 200 LBS

I'm 5'8 135 right now. Im 15 and i ride a 250x. I dont think because of my fourwheeler i have much of an advantage. I ride with a lot of body english. But maybe when i sell mine and get a 400 or 450. It might make more of a difference

The article I read about tim farrs weight in was just like that!

I cant remember off the top of my head, but if you want me to see what issue it was, I can.

I agree with you, it was a very interesting article, I changed the way I work out after reading it.

I read on a website maybe a month ago ( of course I can't remember the website) , but it had interviews with some of the top XC racers . Was interesting to read that Johnny Gallagher eats like 6 eggs each morning ... 7 days a week . :eek2:

They also had some of his training and ride time routines . There was about 4 racers that they had interviewed .

I find it more interesting , than reading every month about how good the Sparks Pipe made so and so's bike .... or how well the Elkas performed . It's been written about time after time after time .... they need to change things up a little bit .

It might have been ... I'm not sure . :(

Whats with all these people saying they are less than 140 and have no problems throwing a 350-370 lbs machine around .

I ain't weak but hell , if I'm riding hard , I'm getting bounced around and I'm muscling the quad in the air to correct it , if soemthing goes wrong .

im 5'11 185 and for the most part am fine. if your riding hard for like 30 laps ya get fatigued and it gets harder to throw it around every lap. i think thats what your talking about. but hit the weight room skinny boy :p

Screw the weight room .... never found the point of sitting in front of a mirror lifting weights and listening to the guy beside you groan as he's trying to bench 300 lbs . I find throwing around 28inch Mudzillas mounted on rims , and throwing snowmobile tracks around to be alot more fun .

Damn dude ..... You're 5 inches taller than me and weigh about the same if not less , and I'm a slim guy . I can just imagine how slim you are . How old are you??? If you're still young like 14 or 15 , the weight will come sooner or later .... but if you're 21 like me , you're done growing and need to start eating like a mofo.

Ahhh that explains it . I'm the same ...... I eat about 25 times a day . No problem to have 5-6 servings at a buffet . I just can't keep the weight on me . I know if I was to start working out , I'd become pretty ripped because there isn't very much fat on me to lose ... it'll all become muscle .... but I don't work out cuz I don't feel like having to deal with all the girls . I get enough as it is . ;)

Wow, some of you guys really are tiny. CS is even bigger then alot of you. 5'10 200 here. Finally starting to get my abbs back, lost 10lbs this year. I don't have the getting tired problem like alot of the really skinny guys do.

I can ride hard all day on whatever, just as long as I don't have to poop. Never get arm pump either. Weights should be a part of everyones training Imo

i dont think the weights are wats keepin ya away from arm pump:rolleyes: j/k

yea seriously to all u little guys, ull find racing a thousand times easier if ya start lifting weights, to get rid of the arm pump all ya gotta do is sit on the couch with a jenna jameson flick in the vcr, although oddly 86350x prefers the price is right and roseanne j/k

phatswinn,

Actually I prefer giving it to your mom from behind (I may be your dad for all I know)............................................J/K!

I'm just saying that some weight training will only help you, not hurt you.

I heard you prefer your george micheal poster, and your richard simmons sweatin to the oldies tape.

Have fun playing with your richard geare gerble habitat kit from ramco industries. Don't make too much of a mess though.:huh
