Right now, i have a 250r with stock a-arms and triple rate Elkas. On Houser's website, they list long travel +3, +1 a-arms in the clearance section for a 250r that use 16" shocks. would that be a special shock, or would my shocks bolt up? i know my shocks would need to be revalved, but for $575, it doesn't seem like a bad deal

No its not a special shock, standard travel shocks fit them. I think they just move the mount location for more travel. I run Houser +1+1, 16in, LT a-arms on my R and they are great a-arms. I race xc and have hit all kinds of stuff, they have held up great. I would highly recommend any houser product.

Question: How are they long travel if you're using stock length shocks? Isn't LT added shock travel? Just curious...

Long travel is wheel travel. Houser does this with 16" shocks by using ball\heim joints that allow the arms to drop lower then the stockers...
