I would like to get a new pipe for the 400ex. However the Oregon dunes in Florence db level is 93 and in 2003 they are going to try to make it 90db. Any pipes that are good and "quiet."

I think what you need is the Powercore4Q It gives some good power at a low noise level.

I had a T4, recently got rid of it because it was just plain to loud.. (made great power though!)... The most powerfull, loudest pipe in the world isn't worth squat if there is no where to ride ;)

I swapped it for an FMF powercore IV-Q hopefully it will me more neighbor friendly.. I haven't had a chance to ride it yet as the bike is in pieces getting powdercoated while I'm waiting for my elka's to show up.. Can't wait to try it out though..

its sad that you have to get a pipe thats quiet. i know i shouldnt praise loud pipes but why pay juat as much money for something that wont help youlike those others will. but anyway enough bull ****ting. um i guesss your only option is a super trapp esr series or fmf. i would go with super trapp they are best and they are quiet. they are realy nice and better than stupid fmf. i just plaint dont like fmf but anyway the choice is your. make a good one guy

The Yoshi Slip-on is pretty loud. Not sure about what the dB levels are. I went ahead and ordered the T.E.C. endcaps for it. They are supposed to really quiet the pipe down. I live in Damascus (pretty close to Oregon City). And after I put the end cap on, you can come out and listen to it if you want. You can even listen to it now if you're curious. I think it's about 95 or 96 right now. My old Wolverine with an FMF was louder.

I had a supertrapp IDS2 quite series on my 300EX and that was not loud at all sounded nice to. Now I have a IDS2 race series on my 400EX it sounds even better it is louder though!. Try the IDS2 quite I think it's what your lookin for. Both pipes give big power gains with stock motors. hope that helps.:D

I had a FMF powercore IV-Q it was pretty quiet had good power gain but had a good sound to it, I traded for something with a little bit more of a bark :D as I do not have any noise level's to worry about as of now, plus I have the powerbomb header and I think that helps quite the pipes down a little also.

I don't think it will be too much more wait for the Elka's. Jeff called me today to let me know mine are in, now i'm just waiting for my Houser's. Let us know when you get them and what you think.

are they going to actually enforce that 93 db limit at florence? If so, the place is going to be thinned down..

Does anybody have the Quiet Core For WB E-Series? According to Rocky Mountain ATV it reduces the noise by 5-6 db.

chad400ex: I'm from O.C. too. Don't tell anyone, I know who dingo is:D

How strict are they at Florence and the rest of the Oregon Dunes? And do you still have that Pro-Tect skid for sale?

They haven't seemed very strict at all to me. There are a TON of bikes over 100-105 db.

Yes, I do still have it for sale..

I can't afford it just yet, but maybe next month...I have too many projects going on right now. And i'm debating between the SS and the PRM.

Thanks for the reply,

Joe

How does anyone feel about the WB e-series pipes?
I see most like the FMF though.
I have seen the the forest service do "voluntary checks." But, I have seen the "PoPo" out at the camp sites checking. I have seen a guy get pinched for $50.00 and had to put his stock back on. ****, I got a ticket 2years ago for riding from the day use area to camp on the road in the park.

Joeex mike and I are planing to go to sand lake soon when the weather gets better haaa. Shall we see if you can bust your chin again.
