All FST 500 owners please help.

Was wondering what the kit costs and what it includes. What else is needed. What did you notice that you got for your money also. Thanks so much for the help.

The kit cost me about $255. This was a piston and head gasket. I sent my own cylinder out to millinium to have it stripped, bored and re-plated. You also have to purchase a base gasket($7).
As far as whether it was worth it or not? Well, it makes good power, 2nd gear starts are alot easier. The only thing holding me back now is my cam(sparks cam). I thought about the 520 but could due without the extra cost. I would be curious to see what a 500 vs. a 520 with similar mods would put out for power.
By the time I paid to get the kit, labor, gasket, jets and pay millinium it cost me about $800 total including tax. Is it worth it? Yeah, but I would get the regular mods: pipe, filter, cam first and try to get the parts in the first place that will work with what you want in the end. Good luck...

I have two R's with the FST 500 kit. The first one has a HRC cam and HMF full system,the second has the FST cam and Yosh titanium full system. Both bikes flat out rip but the edge goes to the FST cammed bike.The kit makes the already smooth 450R even smother,less clutching and shifting.They both have huge gains all across the power range.I can't really talk about pricing,but shoot Mickey Dunlap a PM and he'll give you pricing and what extras are needed.

hey kazpr If I was you I would wait a couple of weeks..I was at curtis sparks last friday and they said they were about done with there 500 kit..Im sure you know as well as everybody else that sparks cant be beat...But this is just my imput..

Ok thanks for the great info Mike. I think I have decided to hold off on motor work other than maybe cam til spring time or so. Should be alot more info and products available then.
