gearing depends on what you have done to the motor, and the size of the track...I think 18" rears would work better on a 300, because studded tires are very heavy... the less weight, the more power. are they black or gold screw tires?? do you have a sway bar?? make sure you jet way up!! Reply back, I'll help you.

no sway bar, and gold screws i believe. all thats done motor wise on my 300ex right now is Full Big gun exhaust, k&n filter with removed lid, and jetted.

i stil havent actually bought those tires, my buddy will sell them to me dirt cheap on wheels, and is just holding them for me sort a speak.

a sway bar will help you more than anything...kind of expensive, but it will last forever and be well worth it. you can run 20" rears but 18's will get you out of the hole quicker. (very important) with 20's I would try a 14 tooth rear sproket considering the motor is fairly stock. the gold screw tires can be sharpened...blacks can't.

i heard a 14t on a 300 will hit the case saver?

a 14tooth front sprocket rubs the case saver tremendously

i would reccomend keeping a 13 front and dropping ur rear to 36 tooth for 20inch tires and 35 for 18s but 36 fior 18s works great for me

Yeah a 14 will rub on the case saver but you can just take that off :) Actually I can't even get my case saver on w/ my 14!!!! I run a 36 rear right now w/ my 13 front & it's nice for trails but for bigger tracks it needs 14/36 w/ 20" tires

Your gearing like iceracer said depends on how big the track is, for shorttrack on my 300(dirt) I run stock gearing 13/38 w/ 18" rears. This weekend though we will be testing it w/ 13/36 to see which one gets it around the track faster w/o shifting a ton :)

I might ice race mine this winter in one race I wanted to last year but didnt' have the time, I think it looks like a BLAST!! But it is hard on a motor I've heard too which I suppose any racing is :)

Anyway good luck!! & have fun!!
