Okay boys and girls. Round Ten of the Mid East Series is done and over and three more events are left in the season. Championships are getting won and friends have been made!
Nothing like another round of racing at Parker Valley. The weather started out looking like rain would threaten the day, but a five minute rain shower blew across the track during the motorcycle race, knocking down all the dust for the quads.

Here Buren tells you about the track.

On the starting line - a host of Pros came out for the event. Two Pros lined up side by side are Jason LaRusso and Matthew Edens. Many Pro riders have made the switch to the Honda 450's and these two are definately one of them.

Mike Houston, current Pro Class Points leader, also has stayed true with the Honda and is loving his new 450. Houston has had several excellent races in the GNCC Series to top off leading the Points chase here at the Mid East.

Santo DeRisi, with new wife Heather, line up on the starting line, debuting his ride on the Honda. DeRisi hasn't broken out the Honda yet, and is hopeful for the day's event!

When 30 riders take off on one row, there is bound to be trouble - in the 4 Stroke C Class, always there is someone to get hung up.

At the end of the first lap, Mike Houston held the lead by just four seconds over Santo DeRisi. Out on the motocross, Houston was feeling comfortable.

Well, I don't know if I am still needed on posting pictures....?

Bonnie Cook
10-10-2004, 01:18 PM
Back on lap three - Mike Houston still held the lead by twenty-five seconds - who said the Honda's weren't fast!

Bonnie Cook
10-10-2004, 01:20 PM
Santo was hanging onto second after pulling away from the rest of the pack.

Bonnie Cook
10-10-2004, 01:22 PM
Bryan was still third, but coming into the barrels, told his pit crew that he had a flat. The team got ready to change it on the motocross - this is what Bryan gets for not running the Tireballs Bonnie bought him at the beginning of the year at the Mid East races!!!!

Bonnie Cook
10-10-2004, 01:23 PM
Well, this was what everyone saw out front - MIKE HOUSTON.

Bonnie Cook
10-10-2004, 01:28 PM
With the flat tire changed on Cook's machine, Matthew Edens was able to get by for fourth.

And that is the way the Overall story goes - One more time for Houston.
Who is having a great season.

Bonnie Cook
10-10-2004, 01:47 PM
Santo getting air time on the last lap.

Santo has had many up and downs this season as well. Just a few weeks before, Santo got married to Heather and this weekend getting on the Honda - things may be turning for the better!

Bonnie Cook
10-10-2004, 01:52 PM
Five minutes later, Matthew Edens was holding onto third.

Bonnie Cook
10-10-2004, 01:56 PM
The Checkered flag was out and Mike Houston wrapped up another Overall Victory. He was tired, but glad it was over.

Bonnie Cook
10-10-2004, 02:01 PM
Santo took second overall, a minute and forty seconds back.

Bonnie Cook
10-10-2004, 02:07 PM
The battle for third and fourth was between Wyatt Westmoreland and Matthew Edens. Wyatt passed Edens just before the finish line field. Coming in nearly three minutes behind Santo.

Bonnie Cook
10-10-2004, 02:10 PM
Fifth Overall went to Jason LaRusso.

Bonnie Cook
10-10-2004, 02:13 PM

Bonnie Cook
10-10-2004, 02:26 PM
Mike got 6th in the Pro Class and tenth overall. That boy is whooping some BUTTS!!!

Bryan finished 8th and 13th overall - he got tired and today is sore!

Santo had some troubles but was looking good on the first lap.

Thanks for everyone posting some photos, but please wait until Bonnie is finished the race report before you add to her race coverage because the photos in between make it difficult to follow the race story.

Don't get me wrong, I love the added photos, but just wait till the report is finished.

Thanks
Harlen
