300EX with 400EX Carb

I want to put a 400EX Carb on my 300EX.
Mods are FMF Mega Max II full exhaust system, Air Box Lid off and
K&N air filter. I'm 500 feet above sea level.

I want to get a .60 over piston soon also.

If I put the 400 carb on does anyone know what a good starting point for jetting would be?

Will the carb be a drop in install or do I need other parts such as
air boot from the motor to carb and carb to air box?

I've heard it's not a good idea. You lose throttle response and you probably only benefit at higher rpm's. I bet even if you do notice gains they will be minimal.
