Hi guys,

I got a question I'm sure has been asked 1000 times... I'm thinking about selling my 416ex for a 450. I have +2 a arms, Elkas and LSR +4 axle that I'd like to keep and put on a 450 if it will work. Anyone know for sure??

The axle will not work like someone said it would. The only things that are interchangeable would be the Elkas if they are standard travel, wheels and tires, front bumpers, brake block-offs. Thats about it unless you have other universal parts that will fit on any bike.

handlebars:)

I heard about pressing a 450r sproket hub on a 400 axle to fit the 450... can someone confirm this?

I also want to know if you can put rear 400ex hipers (with the hub) on a 450R? do they have the same splines?

well my friend has had a 400ex axle on his 450 for a few months now so it must work!;)

He put his 400ex bumper and nerf bars on it too...

i have a 400ex rpm axle on my r. BUT i also had to use the 400ex bearing carrier. and yes if you use the 450r sprocket hub on the 400ex axle it will work with the 450r carrier.

oh yeah I think ill buy my 450 sooner ! I have an RPM axle on my 400 with the race hub and a RAD twinrow carrier!!

dunebuggie66 ... is the chain alignement good with that? how about axle splines for the wheel hubs?

the splines are the same, if you are using a 400ex carrier in the 450r swingarm just make sure you push the carrier in all the way before you tighten it down. then your chain alignment will be good. you may have a very slight bit of the carrier sticking out of the rotor side but it is not enough to see unless you're looking really close. as long as your carrier is tight in the swingarm you will be ok. the only time i had a problem with chain alignment is when i put a +1.25 rpm 400ex swingarm onto my 450r. then all i had to do to line the sprockets up was to flip the countershaft sprocket over so that the "step up" is towards the motor. then you should be o.k.. it worked for me anyway. good luck!
