Broken bolt

I broke one of the long bolts in my head. Should i drill it and tap it myself, i do not have much experience with that. Or take it to a machine shop?

take it to a machine shop....if you accidently get the hole a little crooked then the bolt will be crooked and you wont be able to get your head back on.

I broke the long bolt for the oil filter case on my 400. I was tightening it and it broke off in the case at the deepest point. I had a machine shop make me a sleeve almost the same size as the bolt diameter with a hole drilled in the middle the whole length. I put it in the hole and took a small long drill bit and drilled the broken piece of bolt about an eighth of an inch and then took a small torx and tapped it in the piece of bolt. Then just unscrew the broken piece of bolt out. Hope this helps.
