was coming downa familiar trail today. i was pretty much pinned in third. well as you come out of the corner your also coming out of the woods. it was dusk and as i came out of the woods the sun blinded me a bit and somehow my hand flew off of the grip. im not really sure what happened from there but i was hanging off the side of my quad and had to make a decision to either try to recover or let go and hope for the best. i just let myself flop to the ground and just got a lil bruised. well the quad hit a tree and broke the lower a-arm at one of the welds. the front rim is also mangled. oh well better to fix a broken a-arm that a broken arm

Glad your ok! Could have been worse, you said your hands flew off the bars, ya probably hit something! I agree, better to fix a broken A-arm than your arm!

thats what im guessing. i dont know exactly what happened. as i broke out of the woods the sun was coming down thru the trees and blinded me momentarily. i may have hit a rock or something that i wasnt prepared for and it thru my hand off. i didnt see the quad hit the tree but man did i hear it!

I'll look over it again but the tabs where the a-arm bolts through were not bent. the a-arm twisted in there but thats about it. the rim bent because of the quad hitting the tree and then pivoting around it. maybe my a-arm guards helped to absorb some of the impact.

my aarm tabs are not bent either.....my wreck was different then yours as it was into a fence at an angle so all the force went kinda into the fence & then down into the ground when it got sucked under

ouch. did you get hurt, hope not. we looked over the frame and couldn't find anything but that doesn't mean that something isnt wrong. im just hoping the initial inspection was correct! it hit pretty square with the a-arm. i think that the a-arm guards helped to absorb some of the force. and it kicked it sideways in the tab but not far enough to bend it. im pretty sick about the whole ordeal so i can imagineh ow you feel also.

jeep, r u gonna get some aftermarket higher strength a-arms now? that would be your best bet.

not yet, i can't afford those right now and im not sure what i really want in the a-arm department. I was thinking of plus 2 with a 4-1 offset wheel. but hen again for the type of riding i do (woods) even a few inches wider could be a hindrance.
i think im replacing the busted a-arm, getting a steering damper, and a set of fron itp baja t-9 wheels, and probably a graphics kit since i accidentally sliced my seat when i was recutting my fenders (dont ask, im a dummy)

i had a bad wreck this weekend also
on the last lap of the the race while in first place i went into a turn right after a huge triple-step-up where it was a little muddy and i got out of the groove and flipped several times and the quad somehow the bike went airborne and it landed on my foot
i broke my talus and tibula in my right foot
im out for the rest of the season
somehow i gotta get enough money for a new subframe, handlebars, levers, front bumper, grabbar.and maybe an axle i guess i will check over my frame too

its VERY small but it is there...it is pushed up & to the left when sitting on it...it makes the tire bow out a little but doesnt affect handling to me that i notice...i plan to get a new frame during xxxmas
