I think doing stuff like making sure maintenance is kept up with and playing with jetting a little would help you find a little more power without grenading your engine.

no way dog. the clearance between the piston and cylinder is about .001 of an inch (thats about the size a human hair) and machine tolerances are meant to stay that tight. if you bore your cylinder and dont a piston made for that size cylinder youll get piston slap, blow by, a screwed up cylinder, and a blown motor (not the good kinda of blown either!). you can get your local machine shop to bore your cylinder for about 25-30 bucks and get a weisco poston poston and top end gasket for around 100-120 bucks. my advice, dont do this untill you talk to someone who knows what they are doing, or even better, have someone with you while you do it. read your manual engine section and memorize it! people always ask me how i learn to do things right the first time and i tell them READ! ASK QUESTIONS! it saves you money and time on screw ups. ive had my fair share...they arent fun

Over sized rings won't help unless you have the piston to go with it.

KABOOM, LOL

The 310 kit is very reliable. I had the 330 and had no problems. If you want cheap make sure you do the basics like a pipe and better filter and jetting it correctly. This is stuff you will need when you do a 310 anyway. Pick up a used exhaust system on ebay.

You should go to 4 stroke tech for over bore kits for the 300ex. The sleeve for the 80mm kit from powroll needs case half machining and the one from 4 stroke tech(the one I used) didn't need case half machining.
