650ex ???

a close friend recently told me that honda will soon introduce a new EX model with the liquid cooled 650 from the xr650r. he also said that it will have a reverse gear. anyone have any info or is it all bs?

that would be sweet, chances are it isnt BS. It is def a rumor but it could be true. Id like to see it happen. That would make Baja racing a lot more interesting. DS650 vs trx650

It is by no means complete BS but there is no way that person know complete details of it!!!!!!!

i think it would be a great idea for honda to make a 650ex. if the boys at honda had half brain they wouldnt make it look like the 450r. honda made a mistake i think making the 400ex look like the 450r.

I agree but it's a sad attempt to get people to buy the new over priced 400ex that is working. The sad thing is the way Honda is going, if they did, it would look like the 450R and it would have no reverse or electric start. They also would probably make it air cooled.

they could alomst incorporate some old style 400ex front plastics and head light on a 650 if they made one. they are starting to remind me of yamaha with all the look alike bikes comin out...

Trxracer1 your probably right, i doubt they would put reverse on it but i think it could at least be liquid cooled and be nice enough to make it an electric start

who knows maby they wont come out with a 650 for a few more years yet.

i would guess that it would have reverse, mainly because it would be aimed at trail/recreational riders, most of which want reverse. just my .02

But i would like to see a Trx650, a few weeks ago, some people had a few threads on here bout the trx650 search for it, and u can see some pics, But it just looks like an overgrown 400ex motor smashed into a trx450r frame ! with the plastic being a little diffrent,

If they did do it right with liquid, reverse, and electric start in a MX style chassis I would be buying one for sure! I've been on a Raptor a couple of times and I don't like what they have for a chassis. I hope Honda wouldn't do the same.

this was a long time ago, like back in 1998 when i saw a prototype honda 600 quad, they put the motor in a 250r frame and tested it in baja conditions, dont really remember what the outcome was on it but it was a pretty sweet looking, but it didnt have reverse nor electric start. it was rull on race. not sure who did the test and dont remember much about it. just food for thought about honda has been considering it.

i dont know, i guess you could gear it to do 110, but that goes along with anything.

izzzzz true. they were making it to take on the raptor 660 but the 650 is going to be a slouchy trail rider.
