Riding in the snow is awsome. You can do crazy powerslides. Its just so much fun. It's better with 4x4 quads though for obvious reosons.

i love snow riding. i take all my mx tires and things off, put my lights back in, and ride the snow covered roads all evening with a bunch of freinds. its so much fun just blasting around the turns with 4 inches of packed snow on the roads and noone caring about it. im actually looking forward to the winter because its so much fun and you dont need to load up your quad onto a trailor and drive 3 hours to have some fun. i dont really ride in the deep snow anymore though..too much getitng stuck and hitting things, the snow covered roads are where its at

i agree plus going on home made tracks and makin the jumps with lips out of snow is always fun plus goin with snowmobiles is always fun and goin in slush is sweet but soft wood trails always sucks cause pushing it 4 hours blows when ur wearin thick heavy clothing

I love the dissabling snow storms when only plow trucks are on the road. We got 2 ft of snow and me and 2 buddys went out on the roads (we are in a pretty suburban town) and were drag racing down out major highway and even went on the DC beltway. Hauling on the beltway with no cars and 15 quads at like 60 mph is awesome. (we met alot of people out their) :D

I ride in the snow alot and we get a lot of it around here. I have found palces whit a lot of snow accumulation and when i find enough snow to burry my dads 500 foreman rubicon with 27' superswamper vampires and a superwinch that is what u call a lot of snow

Up in Maine the lakes freeze over enoguh to put vehicles and quads on. When it snows a bit the ice and the sleds hard pack the snow so i dont even put screws inmy tires and i just crank wheelies down the lake. its 7 miles long and i bet i could wheely the whole thing if it was straight and there was no open water under the bridge... Crossing open water on sleds is a blast too..

nothing is like roostin a fresh groomed trail on ur sled (hmm ridin a borrowed prox 6) or hitttin huge snowbanks or goin on fireroads and cruising @ huge speeds of 60+mph some times 90-100

you can dress for the cold, not for the heat. thats why i like winter best.

actually my little 250 is pretty good in snow. i got decent clearance and i got some after market tires, similar to vipers if you know what those are. but any way i was hill climbin, jumpin, and wheeliein like crazy last winter. so much fun.

ny300exrider

Anyone else use their paddle tires in the snow?? It actually works pretty decent. It's good entertainment trying to roost your buddies from about 30 feet away! I probably won't be using my new haulers this winter though, probably put my old geckos back on. :macho

i was riding along a trail along my road today, damn thats deep. i had it in high 3rd and i wasnt goin more then 30. oh well, at least its easier to get unstock then my old TB, that things a damn tank when it comes to getting stuck. now if only i had some paddle tires :ermm:

44oEX
11-05-2004, 08:57 AM
does anybody know if a set of haulers would work better then 4snow's. I know that the 4snow's are great but I am just wandering if the haulers would be better

kssandduner
11-06-2004, 06:49 AM
I think the haulers would work awesome, but I'd be a little scared of puncturing one on a stick or something under the snow, cause they're a fairly pricey tire. I've never heard of 4snows, are they a paddle tire made for snow??

Joe

ny300exrider
11-06-2004, 07:02 AM
yea the 4 snows are just like pro wedge tires, theyre made by maxxis and have little ribs in crossed patterns for the snow. id love to get a set but i have more important things to buy so the stock tires will do

44oEX
11-06-2004, 08:24 AM
yeah the 4 snow is like a small paddle tire that has really really soft paddle desing for snow only. you can't use this tire on anything else they won't last.

anybody have any other opinion on the haulers?

ny300exrider
11-06-2004, 11:40 AM
if you look at dirt drag quads you will notice many of them run 4-snows so they must be pretty tough.

well not really in racing money is not a problem for some so if they can get a super sticky tire and just change them every race.

it's a track set. you take out the hub and put there sprocket wheel on. they weight around 100 pound a piece. depending on the company. and cost like 2000$ (Canadaien) so prabaly around 1500 US they work great you can go where a snowmobile can't but you lose some speed.

I've only ridden in snow a few times.. The time i have pics of i went down to my buddies, where it normally doesn't snow but we were having a harsh winter and it ended up snowing 7½ inches on new years morning (at 130am jan 1st we took our trucks out in the snow) The next night about 10pm......we got the quads out and did some night snow riding! On the roads, normally we wouldnt ride the roads but he lives 7 miles outa town, the roads weren't plowed, and no was out so we went out! It was a blast... I had a passenger most of the time but shes a lot of fun to have on the back so its all good! No action pics, but this is the day we went riding, obviously earlier in the day

Dude it was a freak thing there.....They never get snow there, but last year was a harsh winter down there, ppl were stranded on the freeway for hours, it was like a blizzard in some places, That was the first time in years it had done anything like that there! Even at my house (2½ hours north) they got some snow! I was actually stuck at my friends cause there is 2 ways outa his town, both were closed to all vehicle (passes) Although im sure i would have been fine! I had to stay an extra day and miss a day of work, which didnt hurt my feelings i thought it was cool

snow for snowmobiles, between quads and snowmobiles i'd have to pick snowmobiles, i ride an polaris 700 xc ( i like polaris) and its pretty fast. Just around 117-120 mph ive had it! An average snowmobile ride is around 115 miles for us too every weekend. We get tons of snow here(at camp 45 miles north) We will wake up some morning with a foot of snow on the deck, go riding and another 8 inches is back on after shoveling. it's great up here. check this website out, this is 20 miles away from my camp. Once the snow starts falling more(we already have snow) check this out and see how many hundreds of inches we get.

Last year a bunch of us on our quads (probably 10 people) took to the streets of my town when there was about 10 inches of snow. Now our town isnt that small...population 15,200 people so it might of been a little illegal but I doubt a rear wheel drive cop car is going to catch us let along even bother us. We even went to our highschool and jumped the steps:D It was a blast!!!

Snow is awesome to ride in, especially on trails. Riding at night in the snow is awesome because you can turn your lights off and the moon is reflecting off the snow on the ground so you can actually see.

i love riding in snow last weekend i went over to my cousins house and we took the trail that they have plowed to his grandpas house that had anywhere from 4 inches of snow to 2 foot snow drifts and just rallied it the whole way:devil: then we went out on one of the 2 main highways in our county whipped a few ****ties and then took the trail back to his house and went on the gravel road that he lives on thats totally iced over and did 360's, we found out a few years ago that doing 360's when your going 20 mph is way more fun than just doing ****ties
