Best Sounding Exaust

i know exaust is always brought up, but i want to know what you guys think the best sounding 4 stroke pipe is. im not in the market for a pipe, i would just like to hear opinions and maybe a sound clip or video with the sound in it. nothing real loud, like a cobra or dg, but a mid range sounded exaust.

If you want it REAL loud, I would say a FMF powercore IV with the spark arestor taken out. If you are lookin for the deep rumble the Duncan Racing Double Barrel or Fatboy.

White Brothers E-series pro meg complete It sound SWEET and still gives a heck alot of power......But if you want a real cool sound and a cheap price.....~COBRA~ they r like mega cool sounding...... ;)

anyways without a doubt yoshimura is the worst sounding exhaust i have heard. TC racing...ohhhh my god, that by far is the greatest sounding noise on earth. also nice are the dmc pipe and the white brothers r-4.

Ive been told buy the people who are behind me in the racesthat the DMC sounds good:) LOL its a good pipe sounds real strong. The sparks pipe sounds good to i know from experiance i chased one around the track all day one time.:mad:

no need to get jittery:) , it is all personal preference. i am not going to need a pipe for a long time since i am getting a 400, which has enough power stock, but i like to hear what you guys think. when i do get a pipe, i dont want anything like a dg, cobra, tc(good performance), and other race pipes because they are too loud. BTW, do any of you have any videos or sound clips of particular pipes. ive already been to teamdunesatv.com but they are banshee pipes.

the best sounding pipe ive heard on a EX would have to be tc or sparks. i really like the sound of my pro meg and it sounds better with the spark arrestor out but i have to agree with Juggalo as far as the worst pipe i've heard on a 400 would have to be a yosh. im not flaming anyone, nor trying to offend anyone. thats just my 2 cents.

but the best sounding 4stroke exhaust i've heard would have to be the LRD pipe on a Raptor. sounds way better than anything i've heard on a EX to me. but i've not heard a LRD on a EX. Big Guns dont sound that bad either.

NO ONE has any dyno shootouts with a DG pipe, cause DG is scared to send a pipe. The yoshi is a good pipe, but i've never heard one. I do know that my bike with a big gun sounds good. I dont know what a stock bike sounds like with the big gun though.

I HAVE A WHITE BROS. R SERIES (NO S.A.) AND EVERYBODY SAYS THAT I AM THE LOUDEST AGAINST A DS650 (WITH THE SAME PIPE) RAPTORS WITH PIPES AND ALMOST EVERY OTHER PIPE OUT THERE. keep postin, but i think i like the yoshi, and the big gun. ya know 400exrider, i probably will mod it up, and put a yoshi pipe on, but the only other silencer that has caught my eye is the big gun quiet. anybody hear this before because i love the sound of big guns but they are too loud for where i live. but most likely i will get the yoshi comp slip on because i love that brap brap braaaaaaaaaap sound of it.

It's a LOUD MOFO.Course, i couldnt tell you "wiser" people any diffrent.
We all have diffrent tastes,ways of thinking, and most are set and cant be told any diffrent.
Yosh's Brap Brap is annoying, id rather have something that you can tell where the wheeler is reving at.It helps alot when hillclimbing.
My thinking is diffrent by, I like smaller engines, cause everyone thinks my 250X is gonna suck arse, but most of the time, they get to hear my DG in front of them. :D And everyone is doggin on my wheels cause its a 92' . Big whoop, look at these guys with old 250R's.And im tired of some of you guys with 400's thinking they own all.I mean, they will if you put 20 grand in them, but thats nuts!Look in DirtWheels, and it clearly states in a 300EX test, that " this motor has alot of hidden potential" And dont give me crap bout " a 250X and a 300EX arent the same" they're exactly the same except the 300's cylinder,etc. and that the 300 has electric start.Sorry if im goin on and on, but

as for the best 400ex sound,,hard to tell,,I don't like the overly loud 4 strokes,,,,I think I like my powerbong-bills thunder sound...it's one of a kind...

I love the White Bros. E-Series great power gains and nice but not too loud! As far as the Yoshi goes I know three other guys I ride with that have them and they don't enjoy them at all, but they are quiet loud if that's what you like! :huh

phatswinn, The HMF sounds really good. It is more of a rumble and throaty sound. It is kind of loud w/o a quiet core or s/a, but the gains far out way any noise issues. After hearing a few different pipes I think it sounds the best, and people I ride with says it sounds tuff.

e-seris w/o spark arrestor i am louder than the crf 450 stock and ppl say that is one nice sound also, you can hear it echo throught the woods beside the track. i feel it gave me more low end then top, but the sound is sweet, i love it, louder than the old power core 4 pipe my friend has.

banshees sound pretty nice with FMF and no offense to '92 : 250X er bout the DG but a friend of mine had it on his POS 300ex and it was all rusty and ****ty looking. prob, just THAT pipe:p :D :devil

Definenatly....YOSHI all the way!!! We have it on our 300ex and our 400 ex.It has an awsome sound(kinda throaty) oh,and have it jetted too. It makes hill climbing a breeze.WB is good too, but I think Yoshi has a little better rating.(read it in a mag awhile back)it all depends on your preferance .we like the sound of Yoshi much better than anthing else. i think i am going to go with the yoshimura competition slip-on (i have alot of time to decide)because the gains are just how i like them, and i personnaly love the sound of the yoshi. also, the comp looks wicked (chrome).
i know pipes such as tc, curtis sparks, ct are really good in power gains, but they are just too loud for were i live.

My Dg sounds Good and has excellent powergains,
I dont think Dg is afraid to send the pipe to a shootout because of the powergains I think they are afraid of the pipe braking of malfunctioning Dg is not too dependable if ya know what I mean , What I am wondering what is the best powergain pipe around for a 300ex I have a Dg now would the Sparks, Tc, Or Lrd, Or Hmf be any better than my Dg ? I love the sound of my pipe I cant ride unless its loud. How are these 4 pipes that I listed?
Dg no offense or anything But they have to start makeing Better Quality products , The finish does go quite quick and I just Snapped my mount off the other day , Bent my dg bumber , bent my dg grab bar , Have a hole in my dg skid plate, and I ripped the nets on my nerfs when i had them .
I really dont ride that hard and all this stuff broke ?
I was happy with the products but in the long run i would advise spending a little more money on your stuff.

All you guys go on and on about this pipe and that pipe, but what we have to realize is that these are all personal preferences. I finally found another guy that had a 400 with the same pipe as I, and rode with him for a while, in front and behind. Our pipes are great sounding and not too obnoxious. I still think the power gains from any "real" pipe should be more important than how LOUD it is.

Think about this though the only pipes that have dual exhaust, all the way out are DMC, and DUNCAN racing. Duncan is one of the best 4stroke engine builders in the world, if not the best, and there fatboy exhaust has dual pipes all the way to the canister. These pipes are able to move more air out, since they are less restrictive, and sound way different than all the rest. They are the way to go! :cool:

I said i will probably change my mind alot since there are so much good pipes but i have researched on the hmf and it seems to be very good in gains, price , and sound. if i get the hmf, i will add the s/a and quiet core when riding around in riverhead and stuff, but if i wanna go loud, i can take out the core. i went to the pit and heard a yoshi and i began to think the noise is knd-of annoying after a while. the brap brap sounds good for alittle while but it gets alittle annoying(sorry dan:D ). i still have alot of time to think:D but the the time is getting closer. also the hmf looks awsome in the red-chromish:D

hey, im not sure if it is a liqui-fire. my dad got it from a freind for a very very cheap price(i think 100 bucks). i dont really get to ride it alot because it didnt snow barely any this year. how can you tell if it is a liqui-fire? it is green with 440 going across the side. it has a headlight liike the 250r and sits kinda low to the ground. i got to ride it a few times and i didnt want to go real fast because the guides were shot and it wouldnt turn. i just rode it around in my front-yard.

The HMF would be a Good Pipe. Plus it is really Cheap. I would get the Full Pipe though. I would also try a Bill`s Full Pipe.

Don't buy the full pipe. I talked to the owner and he even said that the full pipe doesn't do much good until you start to do motor work (dyno proven). His 400 had the full pipe but he had a bunch of stuff done. The slip-on alone works great. Good choice.
