Incorrect. There is a locknut on your axle and locknuts in your engine.

yea dog...you have one on your clutch...one on your crank shaft, on both sides i believe. um.. your axle... lets see... im pretty sure there are 1 or 2 in the tranny.... if you would have just put the one you were talkign about in your origional post...it would have saved us all this BSin and you could be working on your bike now. so ill ask again, which lock nut are you talking about?

2 big wrenches...i use pipe wrenches loosen the small nut as far as it will go (close to the rotor) then loosen the big nut untill the cir clip shows. take it out and slide whole lock nut assy. off the axle (once you remove the hub and wheel of course) next time if youll be more clear in your posts it saves a lot of trouble;)

i heard that one of the nuts is reverse threaded. if so is it the bigger nut or smaller one?

not that i know of. im pretty sure they are standard...
