I am looking for a part or a certain set-up that is under $300 that will make a big difference. All the Performance mods on my 400ex are: Yoshimura Slip-On, and a K&N airfilter with the Outerwears. I don't have a Jet-kit or anything done to the airbox either. Any suggestions?

300 bucks you say? Can you save up another 100?? Then you could go for a cam and piston. NOT the XR 400 cam either. The XR 400 cam is still a lame cam.

actually, the xr cam is a good, cheap cam, wit all those more xpensive cams, itl go over 300 wit rockers and valve springs

um ya i would say get a good cam and valve springs. this is a must for any 4 stroke owner who wants good power. um also if you have money left get a wiseco piston. i got one new for $50 high compression and everything. so that should help you alot

You got a piston for 50 bucks? Give me the number of the company you bought it from!

The Best Bang for the Buck is a Piston and Cam. I would go with a little Wilder Cam then the XR. You can still use the Stock Rockers and Valve Springs on more then just the XR Cam. I would get a TC Racing Cam. Tom has a MX and XC Cam. I think his Piston Kits are mostly around $120. You could get a 416 Piston and a Cam. The 416 Piston will be about $120 and the Cams will be $175 for the XC or $205 for the MX Cam.
