I'm toying around w/ the notion of buying a street bike and was curious how much you guys(or gals;) ) w/ steet bikes pay for insurance. I'm not getting a sport bike, just a cruiser, like say a Honda Shadow, or a Yamamha V-star. I'll be looking at something in the 750-800cc range. Thanks in advance.

'03 Honda CBR 600 F4i
Sportbike
Full Coverage
$250+ yr

'02 Suzuki SV650
Standard
Full Coverage
$196 yr

'02 Suzuki GZ250
Cruizer
Liability only
$75 yr

Thats all w/ State Farm. I'm 26, and have my truck and house insurance w/ them too. I've had my motorcycle license since I was 16 and I have a clean license.

Back when I had one speeding ticket on record ..... with Progressive the sportbike was $900 yr. which was a lot. Allstate quoted me $2,400 .:eek2: :eek2:

2001 Yamaha V-star 650
$228 a year full coverage.

24, clean record. It should drop some too in a couple months when I am 25.

If you are looking for a 750-800cc, then u will need to get a Shadow 750. V-stars go from 650 to 1100cc

Thanks guys. I'm actually not opposed to the 650 either, I just want something that won't struggle "too" bad to pull me and my wife around. Although both of us together don't weigh much more than 300lbs

The last street bike I had was about 9 years ago when I was 20. It was a 94' F2. I switched to statefarm on my truck to get them to insure my bike. I think state farm has about the best rates for bikes.
