Here are some pictures of my new bronco..
It's an 89 Xlt with a 5.8L 351W, c6 tranny (ooH yeah), new 33" Bfg Mud Terrains, K&N Fipk, Flowmaster, and an Alpine sound system. It's cherry inside, outside, and under.
I've already been out 4 wheeling once, and I'll be going out again this sunday, and next sunday there is a huge wheeling meet with like 30+ people from fullsizebronco.com. Planned mods are a 6" lift kit, probably from skyjacker, 35" Bfg mud terrains, Warn winch bumper and winch, and having a rear bumper fabricated with a built in receiver, and recovery points. I've already tweaked the rear bumper wheeling, so it will probably be the first thing to go.

I'm actually thinking about just leaving the bungee cord, makes it really easy to take the amp out if I need to shove something bigger in the backend. It's got thick rubber floormats in the front, rear seat, and in the back. The cargo mat is curved up at the ends.. so any spilled mess stays on the mat.

$4450, Which in Cali is a great deal. Most of the bronco's I was looking at were similiarly priced, but not as clean, or in as great of condition.

Nice bungee cord stereo installation. You got rubber bands holding in the head unit? Duct tape for the amplifier? :blah:
To be honest, I was a little jealous when I first heard about your Bronco. I wish I had something that nice.
Oh, wait, I do have something that nice, picked her up yesterday. 1995, Eddie Bauer, for a lot less than you paid... :macho

Yuck, what are those, 31":blah: What tranny is in it? For your sake I hope it's not an E40D... if it is we will see who is smiling when my tranny chugs past 200K+ miles without a stutter, and you are rebuilding yours:p

None of that sissy automatic transmission for me, mine is the 5-speed manual, but thanks for your concern :blah:

It's the strongest tranny there is for a bronco, or any ford truck for that matter really. The only manual transmission you could get stock on a 351 bronco was the mazda 5 speed in like 92-95. Which wasn't the strongest. The c6 is the tranny of choice for bronco wheeling...

My girlfriend grew up with the previous owner of my truck, they're real good friends. He's very meticulous, he maintained his truck very well, so its in real good shape, and he gave me a smoking deal of $3500

ok... take the bungee off the sub, its going to break the rubber around the cone.
i have the same tranny in my truck. i dont like it very well when mudding. it shifts to soon and bogs down. so then your shifting through gears manualy and tearing the damn thing up. i have a 92 f-150 extended cab 4x4 with a crate 351 with 302 intake(dont know why). i paid 1500bucks for it. it has push button electronic 4wheel drive. i hate that. i wish i had shift in 4x4.:grr:

it depends. at my buddies house he has a rally track set up for just trucks. i dont know how fast im going on that but im guessing about 45 when i hit his mud pits. and i hate having to shift gears when im trying to hold my spitter in the other hand. but it does alright in the mud. im getting some bfg m/t on it here in a couple weeks so i will see how much that helps out. i just have some all terrains on there right now. not the best for deep mud. i got stuck in someones front yard a couple weeks ago at about 2 in the morning. it was a freshly grated yard so it was about 1ft of dirt and it had been raining for a good 4 hours before this happend. it was pooring for a good 4 hours.

Are you talking about a manual tranny? C6's are an automatic transmission, if you are.

Dude I love the Bronco, it is nice with or without the bungee (I am sure after a little while you will take care of that.
Also I love the F-150. I had one that was Maroon and Gold. Put 148,000 and only replaced the serpentine on it! Loved that truck, will never figure out what made me get rid of it:confused:
Oh yeah it terrible milage. Had the 5.7 in it!
I hope the both of you have as good of luck as I had.

Well, the C6 is a good, strong tranny, no doubt about that. But I really hate 3-speed auto trannies. Come to think of it, I'm not too fond of auto trannies at all, regardless of how many speeds...

yeah my dads got over 300,000 miles on his f-250 and still has the original C6 in it. third motor...brakes dont work too well, rides like a tank, exhaust falling apart, seats and other interior trim peices falling apart..but that damn tranny is still strong. i agree 3 speed auto sucks but damn thats a long lastin transmission!

Me personally, I don't care how strong or durable the tranny is. I'd rather drive something that I like, even if it is weaker and I have to fix or replace it, rather than drive something that sucks and have it run forever. That just means that not only am I driving something that sucks, but I'm driving it for longer.
Quality over quantity. I hate 3-speed autos, I'll stick with my manual overdrive tranny, even if it doesn't last as long.

Lol.. why do you think the transmission last's longer? It's all about quality and durability. It's a preference/purpose thing. You happen to enjoy one transmission over another for your purposes of daily driving. I enjoy the transmission for it's rock solid design, and durability, and that it is better than almost any other transmission for offroading. Also.. the transmission doesn't suck, it's just not the right one for you, and it's just your opinion/preference.
The only thing that sucks about the 3 speed, is tacking 2800rpm at 75mph with 33"s tires. Regearing should drop it to like 2500rpm however.

That little Celica also redlines a 7k, instead of 5k for the Bronco.
Now, as far as the quantity/quality issue goes, I'm not refering to the quality of construction. I'm talking about quality of the driving experience.
And I didn't say the the C6 sucks. Not at all. I merely meant that 3-speed automatic transmissions suck, as they relate to normal driving (not durability). And it also appears that it is a very popular opinion shared by many, and thus borders on fact rather than mere opinion. I believe most (if not all) people with 3-speed autos sacrifice driving pleasure for reliability. If the reliability were the same, I can't imagine anybody choosing a 3-speed auto over a 4 or 5 speed auto. Thus, you can conclude that 3-speed auto trannies suck.

No, you can only conclude that 3 speed auto tranny's suck for highway driving. "Suck" is relative to the purpose the tranmission is used for.
