new shocks??

I have a stock 400ex and was wondering if putting on new shocks is worth it or would i be better of saving my money and buying a 450r. I mostly ride in sand dunes and trails. which shocks would work best. I am 6-4 240lbs.

A new set of shocks will make a huge difference on any bike. What shocks are the best for you depends on your budget. Works make a good replacement shock for a decent price. Elka make a really nice shock also and for the money you won't be disappointed. As far as saving your money for the 450r there are a few thing you have to ask yourself. are you happy with the power on your 400ex? do you really need electric start. will you be happy with the stock shocks on the 450. We have both bikes and I still think the 400ex with some shocks is a really good bike.

i would like a little more power and electric start is not a big deal. is it worth fixing up the motor in a 400 plus shocks or would i be better of trading for a 450r
