View Full Version : 400 EX Jetting - Please Help!

I am having trouble with the jetting on my 2001 400ex.
Any help would be great.

K&N Air Filter
Full Hindle Exhuast
Bored once over
Motion Pro Twist Throttle

Has dyno jet kit but I am replacing everything stock to start from scratch. Any suggestions on size of pilot and main jets?

ive been talking to people what ive come to the conclusion they are recemending a 42 pilot and a 170-175 jet ad i have pretty much same mods as you

I have been told to use jets directly from honda and that a 155 is what I should try.
I'll have try these out.
Anything else I should know about?

I would say around a Kehlin(stock jet type) 155-160. I think that 170-175 would be to rich. Also on the pilot jet, if yours is stock, I would reccomend going to a 42. Also removing your choke would be a good idea. And go about 2-2 1/2 turns out on the air/mixture screw.

DOES REMOVING THE CHOKE HELP ANYTHING, OR JUST MAKE IT HARDER TO START? JUST WANDERING, IF IT WOULD REALLY HELP I WILL TRY IT
