go to the frequent asked questions forum and i believe there is a tip there if you don't have any special tools.

When in doubt never wail on anything that contraols where you steer your quad too!

I know it gets frustrating but I am sure if pappy or popo would of seen the message thwy could have gave you some advice!

Tapping the spindle usually releases the pressure off of the ball joint and lets it come out! It is weird but my dad showed me while we were putting my front end on! and YES it works.

Take it easy on that steering equipment if it cracks you will never know till it breaks off!

take the castle nut off and put on backwards and use a socket to fill in space from nut to spindel and the turn nut to push the stud out of spindel never failed me

the easiest way i have ever seen to take ball joints off of the spindle is to use a ball joint remover also called a tie rod seporator its like a fork that wedges it apart. but if you dont have access to that you can always use an air chisel or a plain chisel and hammer.

i dont recommend using these tools as more often then not you wnd up ripping a hole in the ball joint rubber:(
