Motor noise

I was out racing yesterday and when I come hard into the corners and down shift and rack the trottle I hear a banging on the right side of the motor. I only hear it in the corners. When I am on the straights or going into jumps I hear nothing. Any Idea as to what this could be? Any help would be appeciated. A friend listened to my motor and said my valves sounded like they needed adjustment. Could that be it? Thanks for the help guys. You can look at my sig for all the motor mods

every 400ex that i have seen makes that noise.so i would'nt worry about it too much un less their is a big power loss or their is metal shavings in the oil.

NO metal in the oil changed if before I left and I heard it a few days before but didnt think anything about it. It was loud this weekend though. Thanks

my 400ex rattled since the day i bought the darn thing. rattling seams almost built right into the 400ex. Sounds like just the valves need adjusted though. does it sound like a top end rattle or more like down in the transmission or clutch are, if it was in the top end i would bet that it would probobly be the valves needing adjusted. if it is most people set theirs to (intake valves .003 or .004 and the exhaust to .005) any how i help this helps man
