Thanks for the compliments. To prep it I used castrol super clean degreaser full strength and some of those brillo pads that have the soap in them. It took everything off.

Hey Dupontster, that thing is lookin' good. You wouldn't happen to be the guy I bought a 250x off of a year or so ago would you?I bought it off Ebay and I am pretty sure the user name was Duponster. The 250x had a "jaws" bumper on it.Anyways, nice job on the 400ex.

I am duponsters brother you bought the 250x from me.If i can remember we met you at a hotel parking lot. How is that bike?Even though I now have a 400 I do miss that thing. It was indestructible.

Man that is one sick bike you built up there....One bad word on that paint though. Friend of mine thought he would try it on his heat sheild on his snowmachine pipe guard. The stuff ended up burning off...Hope it works better for you than it did him. Not sure if its the same paint, he used some blue stuff that was suposed to be "high temp" and didn't work out very well. Again, nice quad man, you should be hella proud of that thing:cool:

I'm just amazed a 16 year old was able to save up all that money to do this, always what i wanted to do but I spend to much money. How long have you been saving up for this?
Excellent work!

Thanks for all the comments. Im really proud of the way it has turned out. The engine paint has been holding up really good. So far Im surprised how good it is still holding up. Me and my dad have our own grass cutting buisness which gives me money to put into my 400. Ill try to get more recent pics soon. It now has a Quad-Tech hood, Holeshot MXR4's on douglas wheels, Works shocks up front (just been rebuilt by Mark Baldwin) and a PEP rear stock shock conversion. Mark Baldwin did a excellent job on the shocks they couldn't be better.

Dupontster

Its not to bad to disassemble a quad just take your time and stay organized and you should be able to do it just fine. Im only 16 and I basicly did it all by myself but with a little help from my dad.

Very nice. I really like the white/blue combo, you don't see that too often on a Honda. Congrats on your build and have fun rippin' it up!

p.s. About how long did it take (once you get your frame PC'd) to put the whole quad back together??

Dupontster
02-15-2005, 03:39 PM
It took about 3 days to put it all back together.

As long as it's not raining cats and dogs we'll be riding. did you jump any of those jumps on the long straight stretch? If so were they ok?

Dupontster
02-15-2005, 06:00 PM
They were OK on that 450....Don't know how I'll do on mine though.... I jumped all of them exept the bigger double.I didn't really feel comfortable jumping someone else's quad ya know. I can't wait to come back with mine. But yeah they felt pretty good to me.

Cool. Hope to have a nice section of whoops heading up the hill towards that downhill jump. Just gotta dry up a bit so I can get a couple lds of dirt up on the hill. Consider yourself lucky that your dad's really into also. My dad never cared for it and still doesn't.
