I am wanting to get a new helmet, not sure what to get. Give me your thoughts, pros & cons. I would like something light weight, with good venting.

Please help

I wear a VFX-R shoei, its near weightless, and very well vented, and the vents can also be closed if it gets wet or muddy. My buddy also just got the new Troy Lee, and that is pretty light, and very well vented, but the vents cannot be closed, and they're pretty big vents, i'd figure mud could go in there and weigh down the helmet. Yes, both are expensive helmets, but what's more important then your life?

also wear the vfx-r..great helmet...shoei has released a fall line with new graphics plus a lower priced helmet around 325.00....

A buddy of mine just got a new troy lee designs helmet. That thing is light and has more venting then any helmet ive ever seen before. As far as i'm concerned there the best helmets out there.

I have a shoei. Whatever you choose make sure it is bell and snell approved. Try on a bunch and see which one fits the best.. They all are a little different in fit. Helmet should be snug with strap on and there should be little side to side movement if you grab the front of the helmet and no up and down movement.

i have an HJC CLX4. for the price you can't beat it.

i've worn Arai's and Suomy's. i think the Arai VX Pro is one of the best helemets out there. i can't say anything about the Shoei since i've never worn one.

i love my new fox pilot helmet it is light and fits really good. the built in roost deflector does a really good job at keeping rocks and stuff from hitting my face i have worn arai's before that cost twice as much as a paid for mind and the fox feels sooo much better.

Man that fox helmet would look like hell after just one race fo me. I only stick with HJC, comfortable, good price, and have no complaints.

I have a Z1R and it looks ok and fits ok but other than that....it sucks! It's coming apart and you can just tell it's an $80 helmet. Stay away.

I wear an HJC AC-X2 Chromium helmet . I got the red chrome and matches my YFZ450 perfectly . It's really light ... has removable liners to wash ... most comfortable helmet I've ever bought . They aren't cheap .... but how much is your brain worth right????

If price is not an object, go with the Shoei. They are by far the best helmets out there. They are also the most comfortable. I don't race anymore, but I wouldn't wear anything else!!!
