View Full Version : If I get a LSR axle and lock nut is a bearing carrier needed??

By needed I guess I mean should I get one also or just wait til my stock needs the bearings replaced?

you don't have to get one I would check the bearings and go from their.

All you really need is the axle itself and the locknut like you said. It wouldnt hurt to replace the bearings if they make noise or are beat.. but I didnt touch mine and it rolls nice and smooth. Heres a crappy shot..and yes my tires are flat.

I wouldn't buy one even if your bearings are worn out. Only if the carrier is messed up. Just buy a bearing/seal kit made by Moose or Pivot Works if your bearings are worn out. The stock 450R carrier has a twin row bearing on the sprocket side.
