Hi guys, it's me again with a shock question:huh !
today I made some calculation: the prices (with taxs, shipping, etc...) for works shocks (front triple-rate w/o) and elkas (front triple rate w/o rez)

works = 560$ (canadian money, or monopoly money like some americans call it :grr :grr ) + at least 30$ shipping + 60$ for customs fee + tax = about 730$$$

elkas = 780$ + shipping + tax = about 920$$$

Are the elkas worth the difference??? anyone tried both shocks?
Also, works is from california and elka from quebec (near where I live), so if I need a revalve or rebuilt, it will cost me more to fix the works. Is it true that the works needs more rebuilts than the elka???

Anyone know a shop that sell works in quebec???

Please, I need an answer fast!!! :devil :p

Well I have not Riden on either Shocks but I woudl go with the Elka`s. I have looked at Shocks for a very long time and the Elka`s are the Best for the Money. Elka uses just as good as Parts as Axis and a lot better then all the other Brands. The only thing Elka doesn`t have Dialed In yet is the Valving. If they got their Valving like PEP`s or Axis they would be the Best in my Opinion. I would go for the Elka`s.

Hey man i would learn how to add first of all,,,,,, $560+$30+$60= $650 dollars not $730!

I know how to add :)
650 + taxs = 730$$$
((560* 1.07)*1.075) +60 +30 = 734.14$

You can get them for like 500 from quad shop and there is no tax. Or i think hsd is in canada so you could call them and just ask how much. I would still go with the elka for a couple hundred.

I have Works on my 300ex. Had them for over 4 years now.... No problems. I have recently got the Elkas for my 400ex. The difference between stock shocks and my aftermarket are amazing. If you can experience them first hand, I recommend not doing it if you can't afford it.... It is a night a day difference, and I bet you will fall in love with them. As for Works versus Elka, they both put out great shocks.... In my opinion. Either one will greatly add to your riding experience. They are both upgradeable, sounds like a no lose situation. For me, when I was about to place my order for Works, they had raised the price of them, that left a bad taste for me. I stumbled upon the Elkas, asked questions, and heard what I needed to make my decision. Good luck.

I would say its according whta kind of riding you do. Elkas are great shock but the Work to me are the best for the money. now if your racing and need one of the best shocks made get the Elkas. if you just ride and maybe play race and just lookin for a helluva better ride,,,get the Works and save a couple hundred!!
Hey also, cant you say,,,, order the shocks and have somebody put B-day gift on the box and not have to pay taxes or fees?? i sold and exhaust to somebody up there and he told me to put X-mas gift(it was close to christmas) so he said he wouldnt have to pay fees!!
If so you could get you a set of Triple rates w\o rezzies from Marcums for $319!!

I still havent got a few things. I had to special a lot of stuff with Terry and i told him just wait till he gets it all in and ship it at once to save him on shipping. i think the only thing he is waiting on is the pingry oil tank. I believe he has most of the rest
I didnt do a liquid cooled because its $2000 just to have it converted to liquid!!!

ChadEXer

Im not sure how much it lowers the temp but I doubt its $2000 worth. the only one that I know does this is FST and he charges $2000!!!! i didnt even ask TOm. im spending enough already!!!
