I plan on building a 400ex engine to race crosscountry...I plan on doing everything!!! stroking, boreing, porting, ect...does anyone have any suggestions for engine kits with the highest compression since I will be running strictly race gas!!!
I wanna keep up with the 450R's...but not buy one:D

you could run 12:1 or 13:1 if you strictly wanted to run race gas. however, the lower you stay the more reliable it will be. also, with that compression you will want to run a heavy duty rod and you will want larger head studs installed. i have never ran a welded cam. all of the drop ins won't use hardened rockers. i don't have experience with larger valves or a ported head. i will be putting a ported one on in a week or two, but it has the stock valves in it. you really don't need heavier valve springs until you need a larger cam than a drop in. i would contact gt thunder on the strokers. your options are mainly unlimited.
