We live in a nice neighborhood so this is crazy.....
My wife got home with our oldest from a church concert about 1am and was unloading when she heard a couple of gunshots coming from a couple of houses down. She didn't see the cop car out front so she was spooked and ran in. I was up and was slowly getting some clothes on to go out and investigate when cops started falling out of the sky like paratroopers...one guy comes sliding to a halt in front of my driveway and runs to his trunk...grabs a shotgun, pumps it and runs up the street. At that point I tell the wifey to grab the kids and take them to the back of the house since their room windows are by the front of the house.
A few minutes later an ambulance shows up and you see about 10 cops carrying a body throw it in the back while screaming....",BITE DOWN, BITE DOWN." As soon as the doors close the ambulance screams off again, but with a police escort...I kinda clued in a that point.
Now about 20 minutes has elapsed and the rest of the police dept, ghetto bird, and about 10 unmarked cars show up along with four news trucks and the newspaper. I befriended the FAT news guys with some brownies and they told me that some cops responded to a domestic dispute and got shot...no other details...sad
My wife did four interviews, and I took a pic of one....we were cojoled into doing the first and when the fat guys came running (really funny watching them run at us carrying a tripod) to get the scoop too they got real mad at first when we declined. I had her do all the talking since she is better looking but she didn't want me to post he pic here...so go figure...I personally regret letting her do the interviews...didnt want to get that involved
Only funny note....I snapped the pic real fast during the interview like a Vern and when they all turned to look to see the flash I looked behind me too...like wtf and they kept staring but I was like looking at stars for a possible meteorite or something....
Whole situation leaves a sick feeling in my stomach
