stg 1 is for more of a stock bike
stg 2 is if you have an aftermarket high compression piston

Inncorrect! I belive stage one is for more of bottom end power and stage 2 is for top end power, or vice versa

You are correct
Stage 1 bottem end
Stage 2 Top end
For mx racing i would suggest the stage 2

id actually go for the stage 1 for MX, if your course is tight, or really any track now that i think about it, because ur always gunna use ur bottem end power, and ur never topped out n 5th, especially with how fast these new 450s are, so why put power where ur not going to use it.

i say Stage 1 for XC, MX, and SX

stage 2 for Dunes, TT, drag and flat track

I definately agree with you.

When I raced my EX, I was never above 4th gear and that was only on one straightaway.

Is the Stage 2 cam for the R a mid-range cam like with the EX's, or is it more strictly top-end? If it is more of a mid-range cam, then it would probably be a good idea to use it for MX if you were to gear down to a 13t and high-compression piston.
